The ATEC Training Academy have recently be appointed as the Training & Competency Assessment provider for Electrical Personnel constructing a major FPSO project.

The ‘Ex’ Competency requirements follow IEC 60079 - Explosive atmospheres - Part 14: Electrical installations design, selection and erection – which contains specific requirements for the design, selection, erection and initial inspection of electrical installations in, or associated with, explosive atmosphere and the personal competencies required.

This training involves the CompEx Scheme, which is the recognised global scheme for the protection of workers and assets in both offshore and onshore activities. The scheme assesses the competency of personnel who are working in environments with the potential risk of explosive atmospheres -The CompEx Certification Body is accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17024 : 2012.
